A major goal of the directive 2009/125/EG
is to improve the energy efficiency of energy using products (EuPs) and thereby contribute to efforts to reach European targets for
climate protection. The directive, however, does not only cover the energy use of products but rather aims to reduce the overall negative environmental impact of the products under consideration.

The directive is primarily focused on increasing the energy efficiency of external power supplies to substantially decrease power losses.

The directive spells out ecodesign requirements both for the no-load power consumption of external power supplies and for their efficiency during operation.

The directive does not apply to:
• voltage transformers
• uninterruptible power supplies
• battery chargers
• converters for halogen lamps
• external power supply units for medical devices
• for external power supplies which are to be used as a replacement part, a special provision of the EuP applies.

Because of this directive we´ve proved all our power supplies and switching power supplies.
